Hanks Tri is a picture book that explores the impact that dyslexia has on processing information through the brain. The triathlon disciplines represent three different parts of the brain that information travels through in person that is recognised as Dyslexic. This picture book was created in collaboration with people who identify as having dyslexia.
Common thread was created in conjunction with ArtLink Edinburgh with patients in The Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
It formed part of collaborative exhibition curated by Laura with pieces of art being exhibited by patients and staff members.
The concept that tied the exhibition together was escapism through the art making process.
Through the art making process there was no longer of sense of who was patient or staff, instead a series of art works hung in unison together on the walls of the hospital, bringing equality and unity to the group.
